We’re back with part 2 of our Church in the Wild series where we’re continuing our journey through the book of Acts and learning how to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our current culture. Pastor Alexa Jones shares an encouraging word on how we can live with boldness in our everyday lives.
In her message, Boldness–A Beautiful Resistance, Pastor Alexa highlights 3 ways the early church embodied boldness in their culture…even in the face of resistance! She reminds us that we, too, need the same boldness of the early church as we commit to growing spiritually and stepping out in faith to share the message of Jesus with others.
We’re diving into Acts chapters 3 through 7 today where we’ll see the ways the early church faced resistance. Then we’ll take a look at the similarities we’re facing in our current culture today and discover exactly how God wants us to handle resistance and adversity as followers of Jesus. Let’s take...

This week Pastor Eric Jones shares part 1 with us as we explore the first 2 chapters of Act as we discover the 3 ingredients we need to go From a Flame to a Fire. We’re learning about the birth of the church and exactly how it grew from a small flame of 120 disciples into a wildfire of 3,000 people within just weeks of Jesus’ resurrection. Let’s dive into our foundational passage of Scripture for this message:
Acts 1:4-8 (NKJV) 4And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; 5for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” 6Therefore,...

We’re in store for a treat! Pastor Annie Spangler brings us a special message all about Love in Action. We’re taking a deep dive into Romans chapter 12 and discovering 3 practical ways to share the love of Jesus with everyone around us! As we explore Paul’s letter to the church of Rome, we discover exactly what love in action looks like and how we can start implementing these practices in our everyday lives.
1 John 3:18 (NLT) Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.
One of the amazing things about God’s Word is that the Bible is living and active. The Holy Spirit uses scripture to teach us and show us and help us become all that God has called us to be. As we dive into our Bible study on Romans 12, let’s open our hearts and minds to what the Holy Spirit is speaking to us.
Romans 12:1 (NIV)- Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy...
Let’s look at the...
We’re back with the 4th and final message in our August series, Power to the People. Throughout the month, we’ve been discovering how God’s power can be applied and carried out in our everyday lives. This week, Pastor Eric Jones delivers a message on The Power of Prayer and starts by sharing two foundational scriptures with us as our guiding theme.
James 5:16-18 (NKJV) 16Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. 17Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. 18And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.
In this passage, James is writing to the church he pastors in the New Testament. This church is made up of believers who converted from Judaism to Christianity. In the letter he’s writing them, he reminds and...
We’re continuing on in our Power to the People August series! In part 3, Founding Senior Pastor Jeff Jones delivers an enlightening word that explores what Jesus says about believers accessing and possessing the power of the Lord and how we can partner with the Holy Spirit in our everyday lives.
Get this: When Jesus becomes the Lord of our lives, we have access to all the power we’ll ever need in life. This is amazing news! But what does power mean here? What is the Holy Spirit’s role in this scenario? Pastor Jeff helps us better understand the answers to these questions throughout his message, The Power of the Holy Spirit.
Many of us understand that there’s power in what we believe. Afterall, if you believe you can, you can. If you believe you can’t, you can’t. But the power of belief isn’t what we’re talking about today.
There’s power in convictions; convictions give us the strength to overcome temptations. There’s...
We’re back with Part 2 of our August Series: Power to the People! We’re diving deep into the power of God’s love as we’re encouraged with His basic, yet fundamental truths. Here’s the deal: God loves us and God loves others through us!
In The Power of Love, Founding Senior Pastor Beth Jones shares everything we need to know about these 2 truths and supports these lessons with foundational Scriptures that highlight the all-encompassing, overwhelming, never-ending power of God’s love for us!
Remember those old school bumper stickers that said “Smile! God loves you!”? For the non-believer, that phrase may seem cliche and trite, but in reality, it’s such a rich revelation. It’s true–God loves your neighbor, He loves the whole world. But it’s important to realize that he loves you specifically. The is an incredible life-changing truth!
1 John 4 9-11 (NKJV) - 9In this ...
We’re kicking off a brand new August series at VFC! Throughout Power to the People, we’ll discover more about being vessels of God’s power and love to the world around us. The Holy Spirit is in us and He wants out! The goal of this entire series is to help us, as a church, get a revelation and reminder that God in heaven has empowered us to live on Earth, operating by His Spirit, to impact and change the world in which we live. Amen!
When we look at the world around us, it’s clear to see that we don’t need more theologians or YouTube preachers or Instagram clips…what the world actually needs is the power of God. No in theory, not as a concept, but as a present tense, experiential reality that God on high would interact with and interrupt society in and through His church.
Here’s some good news today…that power is not just reserved for pastors and teachers–His power is intended to be on the inside of every single...
